 The International DOTA 2 2024

The International Dota 2 Championships 2024, also known as TI 2024 or TI 13, marks the thirteenth annual edition of this prestigious esports tournament. This year, the event will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Tournament Phases

Similar to previous editions, TI 2024 is split into two main phases:

  1. The Road to The International: This includes the qualifiers, group stage, and playoffs up to the top 8 teams.
  2. The International: This phase consists of the playoffs for the remaining 8 teams.

Tournament Format

  • Group Stage: Scheduled for September 4-5, 2024. The specific format is yet to be announced.
  • Main Event: Scheduled for September 6-10 (Playoffs Weekend) and September 13-15 (Finals Weekend), 2024. The format is also to be announced.

Participants

A total of 16 teams will compete in TI 2024:

  • Six Direct Invites:
    • Team Spirit
    • Xtreme Gaming
    • Team Falcons
    • Team Liquid
    • Gaimin Gladiators
    • BetBoom Team
  • Ten Regional Qualifiers:
    • Two teams each from Western Europe (Entity, Tundra Esports), China (Team Zero, G2xiG), Southeast Asia (Talon Esports, Aurora), and South America (Heroic, beastcoast).
    • One team each from Eastern Europe (1win) and North America (nouns).

What Do We Know About the Participants of The International 2024?

Team Spirit

Team Spirit earned a direct invite after winning The International in 2021 and 2023. Their strong 2024 season included victories at PGL Wallachia Season 1 and a top 4 finish at DreamLeague Season 22.

Xtreme Gaming

Xtreme Gaming from China received an invite due to winning Elite League Season 1, finishing second at PGL Wallachia Season 1, and securing third at both DreamLeague Seasons 22 and 23.

Team Falcons

Saudi Arabia's Team Falcons had an impressive season, winning BB Dacha Dubai 2024, DreamLeague Seasons 22 and 23, and ESL One Birmingham 2024, among other achievements. Their roster includes past TI champions Sneyking and Skitter, along with coach Aui_2000.

Team Liquid

Despite a challenging season, Team Liquid secured a direct invite with second place at BB Dacha Dubai 2024 and third at the 1win Series Dota 2 Spring. They struggled to reach the top 6 in other major tournaments.

Gaimin Gladiators

Gaimin Gladiators, the runners-up of The International 2023, earned their invite by securing second place at DreamLeague Season 23 and achieving top 6 at Elite League Season 1 and ESL One Birmingham 2024.

BetBoom Team

BetBoom Team consistently performed well in the Eastern European region, reaching the finals of DreamLeague Season 22 and ESL One Birmingham 2024, and placing third at BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024 and DreamLeague Season 23.

Prize Pool

The prize pool for TI 2024 has yet to be announced. The distribution among participants is also pending.
